Intel says that they are ready to roll out the new Santa Rosa chipset with integrated HSDPA in April or May. Intel also has stated that the chipset will not only be built around the 64-bit dual-core Merom processor, but it will also carry the “Centrino Pro” branding.

Last year, Intel had announced that its next mobile processor platform “Santa Rosa”, would include the following:

  • Dual-core
  • 4MB L2 cache
  • 64-bit support
  • 800MHz front side bus
  • GM965/PM965 chipsets
  • 82566MM Gigabit Network chip
  • 4965AGN wireless chip (Kedron) with 802.11n support
  • Wi-Max and HSPDA integration

Intel had said that “next yearsCore 2 Duo lineup would include the T7300, T7500 and T7700 models, boasting an 800MHz front side bus and 4MB L2 cache, with the low-end T7100 coming with half its original cache.
